Hetty for Breast Cancer

Proquip is proud to announce their support of Breast Cancer Foundation NZ

Breast Cancer Foundation NZ (BCFNZ) is a vital organisation whose mission is Zero deaths from breast cancer. They work towards this by raising awareness, funding research and supporting New Zealanders with breast cancer.

Here at Proquip, we are excited to play our part in making a difference and helping to save lives!

Every day, nine women are diagnosed with Breast Cancer in New Zealand.

That’s 3,500 women every year! And it doesn’t just effect women, every year 25 men are diagnosed with breast cancer too. Sadly, it’s the number one cause of death in women under 65.

Early detection, education, and support is the key to saving lives.

Since its founding in 1994, thousands of lives have been saved thanks to education about breast cancer signs and symptoms, the introduction of NZ’s mammogram screen programme, and continuing advances in treatment. BCFNZ’s push for new frontiers in early detection, treatment, and support has seen the breast cancer mortality rate drop 43% in the last 23 years.

One day, NO ONE will die of Breast Cancer.

As a not-for-profit charity, BCFNZ relies on donations to fund the vital work that will bring that day forward, which includes:

Research and funding the latest technologies and equipment. This includes Te Rēhita Mate Ūtaetae, the Breast Cancer Foundation National Register, as well as supporting critical studies to improve survivorship.Education and awareness in communities, breaking down the barriers so that more breast cancers are detected early and lives are saved.
Support for women AND men with breast cancer including an 0800 specialist breast nurse advice line, counselling and rehab services following surgery to improve quality of life and extend survivalAdvocacy. BCFNZ works hard to create positive change that ensures every New Zealander has equitable and funded access to screening, diagnosis and timely treatment for breast cancer.
